During operation, the Filtral UVC 1600 intakes water that is then channeled through a series of filter media creating a special environment by allowing the settling of beneficial bacteria.  During this stage, harmful ammonia and nitrites are converted to nitrates, which support plant life in the pond. The Filtral UVC 1600 has the added benefit of oxygenating the water by diverting waterflow up and out of the pond with the attached up piping and included fountain nozzle extension.
